It has always been interesting to talk and read about car enthusiasts. They are all over the world, they may be different world apart, different races, cultures, religions and many other things but they surely are very common when it comes to their love for cars. They are like brothers brought together and united by their love for cars; yes they may be expressing their enthusiasm in way too different ways but the bottom line is that they love cars. Some are thrilled by big machines, others by the great modifications and others perhaps just love speed. JDM car culture has found, extended and established its roots all over the world. Most of the time, you will hear JDM in relation to its existence and popularity in the United States. More often than not, we do not stop to think of other places that the culture may have reached. Sure thing, there is very little said about car lovers in places like say Africa! Surprisingly enough, there are places in Africa where JDM is deeply rooted. It may not be easy to notice this of course, because probably the number of people who own real JDM modified cars are very few, maybe countable. This however, does not stop them from feeling as part of the bigger JDM society. The most interesting and maybe inspiring thing about car enthusiasts is their sense of belonging. They are constantly checking out for anything going down in their proximity that they can fit in. They even form car clubs and meet up just to feel good about their cars and go for a cruise. There is a Caribbean Island called Barbados whose story has spread wide by now. It is an example of a place with enthusiasts who have a car club; theirs is called JDM Squared and they do not shy off from expressing their own Bajan culture. They constantly communicate and meet up in different places, even a filling station with their highly modified cars. It usually is a very interesting parade of different mixes of cars. I am sure there are many more such places and we only need to take an interest, find out the places and explore them. Sadly though, it is a little of a struggle to own an imported car in some of the African countries; of course it usually is a bit of a hustle even in the United States, so you can imagine how harder it may be if you are in a third world country. There are special methods and processes you have to go through if you need to import a car directly from Japan. For some the import duty on the cars is as high as over 200 per cent.
If things are this bad and people still afford to own JDM cars in such places, isn’t this JDM culture car enthusiasm thing just a little crazy though.

There are many types of car guys all over the world. There are also different criteria for classifying car enthusiasts and therefore, this article is not exactly conclusive. What we have done here is to try and fit each guy into a category and we hope that nobody has been left out. It’s crazy how some people have actually discovered that they perfectly fit in a category but they did not even know. Well, if you are curious to know where exactly you fall, then follow me and let us make the discovery together. Sure enough, some of the categories are kinda embarrassing but then, we have to have someone there, don’t we? All I am saying is that it is okay and totally normal to be in any; do not be shy, there are thousands of you. After a well-done research, we finally narrowed down to these 8 types; feel free enough to accept where you belong. As I said, you are not alone. The TunerYou know that guy who will do just about anything to increase the speed of the car? Now, this is the perfect name for them. This type of guys will go out of their way to make you believe that a certain car build was very easy and so cheap. The DrifterIf you are crazy about drifting and you are almost unstoppable at this, you fit in here. This type of guys love to smell burning tire, it literally drives them crazy and makes them want to keep drifting for eternity. Wannabe DrifterYou want to drift so badly but you are not even good at it? Dude, this is what we call you. These guys will trade in anything if you let them drift a little. The V8 GuyThese guys practically adore the V8 engine. To them, there is no replacement for displacement. The “Look what I can do” GuyHahaa…This is one guy who wants to prove to everybody how much of a professional driver he is. Dude cannot keep calm but wants to be “that guy” all the time. Most of their stunts are completely unnecessary and they, most of the time, end up causing damage or getting hurt while trying to prove their point. The Broke-ass EnthusiastThis is the eBay guy. To him, eBay is life. He wants to drive certain makes so bad but he cannot afford them. So he turns to eBay to find something that fits in his budget. Now we all know how risky buying a car from eBay can be; missing parts, loosely fixed parts and generally, the cars are in very poor condition. If you ever intend to quote me for talking ill of eBay, kindly do not. Some of the stuff there is actually genuine but from experience, most of the vehicles on eBay are in very bad condition. The Home Mechanic…Who cannot actually fix anything!Dude, there is a reason why these guys called mechanics exist. Sure enough, a guy is expected to be able to fix some minor car problems but if you don’t know, you just don’t. This type of guys want to unscrew the car at home, if you watch them you’ll actually believe they know what they are up to, until you notice that they cannot fix anything and you can’t help but laugh. Please guys, if you don’t got it, you just don’t! The Jealous HaterThis guy knows very well that the next person’s car is way better than his but he just cannot stop trying to justify why he thinks his car is still better. He brings up this conversation without being provoked or when you least expect it.
I am sure by now you are just smiling because you know what type of car guy you are. The most talked about aspect of sleeper cars is the fact that unlike Bugattis, Lamborghinis and other flashy cars, Sleepers are satisfying when it comes to offering great performance without attracting so much attention. These cars are the perfect proof that looks do not necessarily define the quality of a machine. A lot has been said about their very mundane style that makes them even hard to recognize in a parking lot. Now, this is definitely not the kind of car to go for if you love driving a car that attracts everyone’s attention. It is however, the type of car you would love if you are the kind of driver who derives satisfaction in having a car that seems slower but can actually overpower many expensive looking cars. Sleepers are known for their relatively low cost of upkeep and prices. They do not get as much attention as rides with higher profile but once the true discovery of what lies underneath the less attractive look is made, many car lovers will definitely prefer them. Believe me when I tell you that these are the cars for all those who get it right when it comes to the essence of the real meaning of being crazy about cars; I am talking about real car enthusiasts. I am looking for the best word to describe the look on someone’s face when they unexpectedly lose a speed contest to a car that they considered slow by just looking at it; of course it is a very natural conclusion. I definitely need your help describing that surprised, jaw-dropping expression that an all-confident contestant gets after having been beaten hands down- it can be very embarrassing especially if you had publicly registered your overconfidence. This is the reason why the ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover” expression works for car racers. In the same spirit of talking about not judging by looks, sleepers are the craziest example one can ever use. Here is a carefully compiled list of 8 insane sleepers that you definitely do not want to race;
DHDF in full the Dallas Hip-Hop Dance Festival is the new thing for hip hop dancers. It provides a platform for any hip hop dancer despite their age. It is a representation of all types and forms of hip hop that have been originally found and established. The DHDF has a vision; it is aiming at creating the experience that both spectators and dancers will never forget. They intend, on that weekend, to inspire, educate and show off both established and growing talent and they are specifically targeting the Southwest. It is the first ever such platform in the Dallas and they hope to enrich everyone present and give them a positive experience. They have made open their festival to crews, studios, companies and anyone else from within the south. The weekend entails a workshop, battle, competition and showcase. They have narrowed down the very broad hip hop genre and are specifically working on improving the side of hip hop dance that is more realistic and positive. The master class is one of the series of events that have been organized to take place before the festival as a way of getting ready for the big thing. This class has been placed under the very able and super talented Tricia Miranda; she performed as Missy in the Super Bowl show. This female artist has built quite a name for herself. She started training at 4!!In 2001 in Los Angeles, Tricia made her great talent known and she soon became the new thing whenever anyone was talking about great female hip hop dancers. She has danced for many great artists including Beyoncé, Usher, Neyo, and Jay-z among many others. Then there is the Battle which will be held sometime before the big event. Those who are interested have been advised to keep checking DHDF Facebook page and website for updates. The venue is the Holiday Inn Park Cities in Dallas. The winners will walk away with trophies and cash prizes. There will be an entry fee of $20 for those who would wish to battle and $10 for the spectators. There is a DHDF workshop where great choreographers such as Dejan Tubic, Sean Bankhead, Luam and their very own Keith Clark come in to train the participants. The 2015 DHDF is expected, as their tradition dictates, to select around seven dancers that will showcase their choreography at the show. The 2015 faculty consists of Sean Bankhead, Lisette Bustamante, Chonique Sneed, Jenny Durbin Smith and Robert Hernandez. Then there is the show where the best two crews become DHDF champions of the year. It took place at Majestic Theatre in Dallas. DHDF has cool collections that say a lot about what they do and it screams positive hip hop. The triple D B-boy is one awesome one. It goes really well on someone who loves sophistication. Having known so much about JDM culture, this one honestly goes well for JDM enthusiasts. A cool look and a highly modified cool car equals to a cool guy.
